Faith and Light is an international Christian organisation for people with learning difficulties, their family and friends. It sprang from a pilgrimage to Lourdes in 1971. It was founded by Jean Vanier and Marie-Hélène Matthieu. There are communities in 73 countries. Northern Europe is twinned with Southern and Western Africa and we in Bridgwater have recently made links with Zambia.
The community in Bridgwater generally meets once a month on a Wednesday evening for prayer, singing and activities. In our community we have about 18 members, 10 of whom are our special friends. In common with many communities we would like to find new friends to help with the organisation of the group.
Our community is part of the South-West Region which has communities at Bath, Bridgwater, Churchdown (Gloucestershire), Exmouth, Salisbury, Thornbury and Wells.
