THE INSCRIPTIONS ON THE GRAVESTONES

1.  In affectionate remembrance of William Walthan who departed this
     life June 28  1882 aged 79 years.

     The memory of the just is blessed.

     Also in memory of a dear mother Jane wife of William Waltham who
     died at Spaxton 3rd May 1894 aged 76 years.

     The Lord is good to all and His tendernesses are over all His works.
     Psalm 118 v 29

2.  To the glory of God and in loving memory of the fragrant lives of two
     sisters Mary Waltham 1832 - 1916 Emily Waltham 1841 - 1923.

     For God hath to love to keep its own eternally.

3.  Sacred to the memory of William son of Isaac and Christian Waltham
     who died May 15th 1869 aged 5- years also of Christian Waltham ...

      .. sleep September 4th 1887 ....... aged 8l(or 84) years

     To depart and be with Christ which is far better.

4.  Sacred to the memory of Thomas Waltham ... departed this life

     March 1st ...... aged 87 years. Also Sarah, wife of th- .....
     who died October 29ths 1818 ag— ........

5.  Sacred to the memory of Emily Hawkins wife of William Hawkins of
     Spaxton who died the 2nd day of December 1822 aged 74 years.

     William Hawkins who died the 31st day of December 1843 aged 78
     years.

6.  To the memory of Edward Hawkins who died at Gunnyhill Dorset
     October l6th 1836 aged 68. Also of Thomas Walthan of Crowcombe
     who departed this life in February 13th (l5th or 18th) 1837
     aged •••• Also of Mary wife of the above Thomas Waltham who
     departed this life Agust 27th 1851 aged 51.

7.  In memory of Isaac Waltham who died 20th November 1859 aged 58
     years Also of five children of the above Isaac who died 2nd
    January 1813 aged 3 years Frederick who died 8th January 1813
    aged 1 year Sarah who died 7th December 1850 aged 17 years
    Cecilia Jane who died 17th July 1853 aged 16 years Emlin Ann
    who died 31st March 1862 aged 18 years.
